This is an Allstate house. The problem starter with the initial 3rd party inspector. If you are a contractor, don't fall for their suggestion to "mark-up(chalk)" the roof or damages and to just leave and they'll count what you marked-up when they get there. They are just trying to avoid being there at the same time as the contractor inspector. So needless to say, we had another inspection following this house so we had to leave as the inspector was 45minutes late. As a result, the roof, siding, and gutters were not approved. We were very surprised so we pursued fighting the decline, but we were given the run-around over and over and over. After 5 months, we were able to finally get a 2nd inspection to justify the damages, we were very fortunate that the assigned inspector is someone we knew who was very thorough and accurate with their process. As a result, the Roof, Gutters/Downspouts and Siding on both house and detached garage was approved. We have been fortunate to be successful in multiple house against Allstate, so we must be doing something right, but they still prove to be a very difficult company to work with at times. It went 3 rounds back and forth - 2x declined and then for the hailmary, called the bluff of the insurance company and completed a repair video and challenged the adjuster to prove that the roof is still repairable. On video, we had to call em out and told them to prove to us that it's still "safely" repairable. The key word is "SAFELY". They finally approved the roof, but that was just the start, now that we had them on the hook, it was clear that the gutters and downspouts had to be replaced. Check out the gutters, they are nailed into the fascia. They will get damaged during the D&R, hence has to be replaced. Customer very happy for New roof and Gutter system. During the initial inspection, we were informed by the insurance company that they will only approve a repair on the shingles, about 28 pieces on the dwelling and none on the detached garage. We obviously didn't accept their findings and decision. The most important part is the fact that they acknowledged the damages on the roof. This opened the door for a "Repairability Test" which we conducted and found that the shingles are not repairable. So although the insurance company wanted us to repair the roof, but the fact that it's not repairable, we can't replace or repair a single shingle, hence they had no choice but to approve the full replacement of the roof. Then since they accepted the damages on the roof, then we pursued the gutters and downspouts, since they could not deny the damages on the roof, they can't deny that the gutters and downspouts were also damaged by the storm, hence we were able to get new gutters and downspouts for the homeowner. We were very fortunate that we were able to justify and convince the insurance company to replace the roof. We pursued it through repairability and other avenues of getting the roof approved. Eventually State Farm issued an approval. YAY!! Nevertheless, we continue to go up against State Farm, we will help as many homeowners achieve restoration even against State Farm.
